... about us '08 version

I'm seeing a developing trend. We can't be where we are without having been where we were. Please start at the bottom.

The Cutthroat Racing Team ended up last year with approximately 68 members. Many have rejoined for '08 and we're waiting to hear from you.

We're still about 1/3 female. We're probably still heavy towards the mountain biking side, but I'd say our diversity outweighs any tire bias. We are home to the reigning Women35+, Men 50+ and Sport Men 40+ ICUP Champions. Home to the SingleSpeed Cyclocross Series Champ and several other podium finishers, including Women A and Jr Women. We are also home to some of the friendliest riders you'll run into out on the trails and roads. I heard that directly from a new member who wanted to join after riding with some of us during LOTOJA.

We have an exciting '08 season planned, starting with a trip to Tucson AZ for 24hrs in the Ol Pueblo, continuing through busy local mountain and road racing seasons, a heavy spattering of centuries, night rides, road trips, social events, camping trips and more. Then next fall we'll hit 24hrs of Moab, make another trip to Portland for the World Singlespeed CX Championships and start cyclocross season!

You won't want to miss it!!!

Cheers,

BykMor

... more about us

Start at the bottom. That part is still true, but here in 2007, we can update, a bit, what the Cutthroat Racing Team is about.

We do have riders of all types and abilities... around 50, depending on how many of you join today, about 1/3 female (and they're all active riders). We have some riders that do Critical Mass and have no interest in racing. Some of us do race... in Alley Cat races (go ahead, ask). You can always find us making a scene at the ICUP mountain bike races. We have the 2006 UT State Cyclocross Singlespeed Champion, the Clydesdale Division winners at the 24hrs of Moab, some good ol' fashion road racers and a couple that might blow you off the road as they pass you at LOTOJA on their tandem.

A lot of us use our bikes for actual transportation. You might see Cutthroat jerseys zipping across town heading out to our monthly meetings at the Uinta Brewpub. We give back to the community. Team Cutthroat currently holds the IMBA Cup which is presented to the team that donates the most trail hours during the season. And a lot of us volunteer down at the Salt Lake City Bicycle Collective.

Drop us a line. Ask us a question as you're passing (or being passed by) us at a race. Stop by and bum a beer, and have a chat at one of the races. But most importantly, ride your bike.

***********************************************************************************

Founded in 2005, Cutthroat Racing was established to give cyclist of all types and abilities a place to join where they would feel welcome. It's the purpose of Cutthroat to encourage all members to strive to be the best at whatever they choose to do weather it's racing or just casual riding. Cutthroat does not have a member hierarchy where only the elite benefit from the success of the team, but rather all members do. Cutthroat is also dedicated to promoting cycling as a valid and valuable form of transportation and supports other non-profit cycling advocacy groups through proceeds raised from the events it sponsors. If you think this is the type of team you would enjoy being a part of click on the "Join Here!" link under the login and come have some fun with us.
